School Districts at a Crossroad

We are seeing tumultuous political times in Butler County. And there is no more evidence in overreaching by the right than in our schools. To varying degrees, masks, CRT and book bans have all been issues in county school districts. It can be downright overwhelming!

In an effort to prepare you for school board decisions that may impact your child’s learning experience, Butler County Democrats are organizing School Issue Forums for Lakota, Middletown, Fairfield, Talawanda and Hamilton districts. School District experts will moderate the panels and provide a recap of what your school district faced last year, and what to anticipate the issues will be in the 2022/23 school year.

Each forum will wrap up with a Q&A session where we you can discuss actions needed to prevent school board members from pushing a political agenda. It’s important to remember that 2023 will see many school board members up for re-election, so you need to know which members are working with the best interest of the district and students in mind, and which ones are focusing on political posturing.
