Jennifer Brunner, Ohio Chief Justice Candidate, to speak Oct. 24 at Butler County Courthouse Rally

Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice candidate Jennifer Brunner will speak at a political rally Monday, October 24 from 6:00-7:00pm at the Butler County Courthouse gazebo, 160 High St., in Hamilton.

Brunner is recipient of the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award in 2008 for her service to Ohio as its first female Secretary of State.

“Administrative and policy leadership of the court is not about an ideology of who should win and who should lose,” said Brunner. ” It is about a belief and understanding that courts are only as effective as people believe them to be.  Good judges and fair courts can make all the difference in the confidence Ohioans have in their judiciary.  And that confidence makes our courts more effective.”

Eighteen Ohio retired and former judges announced an initiative last week to support Justice Brunner in her campaign for Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court. The election is November 8, but early voting is currently underway.

“These state judicial positions are extremely important for democracy to continue to succeed in Ohio.” said Kathy Wyenandt, Butler County Democratic Party chair. “We have a full slate of candidates running for local, state and federal offices and want to make sure voters get a chance to meet them and talk about issues that affect them.”

Other Butler County Democratic Party candidates running for office will also attend and speak. Wyenandt will emcee the event.
