WHY I’M RUNNING FOR OFFICE
I am running for office because I believe in the power of community, the importance of justice, and the necessity of leadership that listens and acts on behalf of the people. My campaign is rooted in the following principles:
Empowerment and Opportunity: Every individual deserves the chance to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances. I am committed to creating policies that provide equitable access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
Justice and Equality: It is imperative that we address systemic injustices and ensure that our laws protect all citizens equally. I will fight for civil rights, gender equality, and the protection of marginalized communities.
Economic Growth and Sustainability: Our economy must work for everyone, not just the privileged few. I aim to support small businesses, create sustainable jobs, and promote economic policies that foster long-term growth and environmental stewardship.
Community and Collaboration: True progress is achieved through collaboration and active community engagement. I pledge to be a transparent and accessible leader who listens to the voices of my constituents and works tirelessly to represent their interests.
Integrity and Accountability: Trust in our political system is built on integrity and accountability. I promise to uphold the highest ethical standards, ensuring that my actions as an elected official are always in the best interest of the people I serve.
PRIORITIES
Womens’ Reproductive Freedom: To ensure the right of women to make their own reproductive choices, and ensure access to abortion, birth control, and IVF.
End Government Corruption: To get money out of government by reforming campaign finance rules and fix the problematic Citizens United ruling–Corporations shouldn’t have more rights than individual citizens; to reform the extremely biased Supreme Court by ensuring term limits, an expanded court, and ensure that the court abides by ethics standards, and end gerrymandering nationwide by passing a new Civil Rights Amendment.
Fix Stabilization Services: Ensure that the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share into Social Security and Medicare, and ensure access to healthcare for all.
Advocate for fair wages: Close the gender wage gap, and fight to ensure the viability of working families by increasing the minimum wage to $15 an hour.
Economic Development: Bring good paying jobs to the district, and ensure that communities have access to funds for revitalization.
