There are just 4 days left in this Election. Can you believe it? For some people, the last year has been non-stop action: raising money, recruiting volunteers, making calls and texting, dropping lit and countless other activities. And much of that has been done in the brave new world that is Covid in 2020. For many others, you have voted and posted on social media, but maybe you haven’t had the chance to get involved yet.
I’m here to tell you that it’s not too late! We need you now! Starting with honk and waves on Friday and going through taking down signs from polling locations on Election Night, there are still plenty of opportunities to get involved. And we need everyone who can help out with this final push.
And lastly, I want to say thank you to everyone who has run a campaign and volunteered for a campaign this year. While this can all be very exhausting, it is also truly inspiring to see Democrats coming together in Butler County. Keep pushing through, but make sure you make time to take care of yourself, too.
Literature Drops
We have coordinated efforts across the campaigns to cover Butler County with election literature, encouraging those who haven’t voted yet to get to the polls. We will have staging areas set up in each region, so you won’t have to travel far to pick up materials. Please sign up for the staging location closest to you, for one shift, two or more. And bring a friend. The more people we have, the more voters we can reach.
Sign up for your region at the links below:
Lit drops are no contact (though you might see someone outside doing some yard work). We do ask you to bring a mask and maintain a safe distance if you do speak with a voter in their yard. But for the most part, you are just getting the literature to their home to underscore the importance of voting for Democrats up and down the ballot.
Don’t wake up on November 4 asking yourself what more you could have done. Help GOTV in Butler County by signing up today!
Early Vote Slate Card Distribution
Thank you to everyone who has worked a shift at the BOE distributing slate cards. We have seven shifts left on Saturday through Monday. Check out the available shifts and sign up here. Slate cards help people know who to vote for up and down the slate, particularly for the State Supreme Court candidates (where this is not a political affiliation signified on the ballot).
Upcoming Events
Election Day Polling Location Volunteers: Shifts available from 6:00am to 8:00pm at polling locations across the county. We are targeting specific locations, and need as many people to sign up as possible.
Virtual Phone Banks for Kathy: shifts available Friday, Monday and Tuesday
Lit Drop for Vanessa Enoch on Friday: Channel 9 is doing a feature on Vanessa and her campaign, so they have scheduled a special list drop today! Meet at the parking lot at the northwest corner of Route 4 Bypass and Tylersville Road, behind the Speedway. (Use Coco’s Mexican Restaurant, 3320 Tylersville Rd, Hamilton for your GPS). Meeting time is 3:00 pm.
Yard Signs
If you still need yard signs, you’ll want to get those this Saturday from 12-3 at BCDP Headquarters (224-226 Park Avenue, Hamilton) or at Mockingbirds Cafe in Middletown from 1-3. Stop by before or after you work a shift dropping lit (hint, hint).
And we’re also still seeking donations for the additional yard signs as well as other GOTV efforts.
Other Ways to Help
In this final push to the election, there are still key ways you can help out. Anything listed above helps all of the campaigns. Donate: they can still use the money. Follow them on social media, and share their posts on on your newsfeed.
Most importantly: VOTE. And make sure that people you know are voting. And if you have an absentee ballot, make sure you return this to the BOE at the drop box by 7:30pm on Election Day at the latest (too late to trust the mail at this point in time).
